Airline makes first flight today from Vancouver to San Francisco

WestJet announced the launch of new seasonal non-stop service between Vancouver and San Francisco. The inaugural flight departs from Vancouver’s International Airport at 8 a.m. PDT today.

"There is a natural bond between coastal cities and we are delighted to offer the people of the lower mainland non-stop seasonal service to the city by the bay," said Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Strategy and Planning. "Our seasonal flights from Calgary and Edmonton to San Francisco are extremely popular and we expect that the addition of non-stop service from Vancouver will be just as successful."

WestJet will fly between Vancouver and San Francisco daily until October 30, 2010.
