Today marks the celebration of No Tobacco Day worldwide, with smokers being encouraged to stub out their ciggies and get rid of their bad habit, and in honour of this Skyscanner has compiled a list of places to visit to escape the smoke.
Ireland, Australia, Canada, the United States and ironically Iceland are the countries which have quite stringent smoking bans, says Skyscanner.
“The Emerald Isle led the way with its anti-tobacco laws; being the first country in the world to enforce an outright ban on smoking in enclosed workplaces,” says the online comparison site.
“[In Iceland] Smoking and the use of tobacco in enclosed public spaces… Too bad the smoking ban does not apply to volcanoes.”
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the most cigarette lenient countries include Japan, Andorra, Hungary and Spain.
