This weekend, St. Kitts & Nevis participated in Beneath the Sea’s 34th annual Oceans Exposition and Dive Travel Show at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, again this year from March 26-28, 2010, enticing attendees to experience diving in the twin-island Federation.

Over the course of the three-day event, thousands of show attendees including potential dive travelers, dive industry professionals, and media stopped by the St. Kitts booth to learn more about the destination and learn about what the island can offer divers.  Representatives A. F. Abdullah Skerritt of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s Washington DC office and Mr. Larkland M. Richards of Bird Rock Beach hotel and on-site ProDivers dive operation were joined by Mr. Ellis Chaderton, owner of Scuba Safaris Ltd. Dive operations at Oualie Beach Resort on Nevis to talk about the island’s dive product, answering questions with a smile and providing a first-hand experience of genuine Kittitian hospitality.  Many interested folks took home brochures and other materials, so learning about diving in St. Kitts & Nevis can continue even after the show’s end.

“Participation in the Beneath the Sea show enables us to have direct contact with potential dive travelers in this key metropolitan area,” said Mrs. Rosecita Jeffers, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. “As dive travel is one of the most recession-proof niche markets and a key target for our marketing efforts, it is important that we leverage our dive product as people are making their annual travel plans.”
