Universal Studios Singapore closes new roller coaster

Only days after opening, Universal Studios Singapore have been forced to shut down one of its roller coasters after it suffered a “glitch”.

According to the Examiner, the problem with the duelling Battlestar Galactica roller coasters was found during a pre-opening inspection.

The theme park said it would not operate the ride until the glitch was corrected.

"The ride may be closed for several days or longer to perform a complete analysis” the park said in a statement.

“We understand some guests may be disappointed; however, the safety of our employees and guests remains our top priority"

The Battlestar Galactica ride is a suspense roller coaster designed by Vekoma and gives its passengers the sensation of near-miss collisions.
