Dubai is gearing itself up for bigger and better things this year with its new cruise terminal set to become fully operational by the end of the month.
An article published in the Khaleej Times quoted Hamad Mohammed bin Mejren, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Executive Director Business Tourism saying that more than 120 ships are expected to dock at the terminal this year.
"Dubai is steaming ahead and we look forward to a period of tremendous growth in cruise tourism segment," he claims.
"We expect to receive 120 ships and more than 325,000 passengers at the new state-of-the art terminal this year."Capable of housing four ships simultaneously, the 3,450m² complex is aiming to process just under 200 ships in 2015 and over half a million cruise passengers.
