Dive destination website and dive content marketing platform, Diveplanit announced today that it has acquired dive travel agency, Diversion Dive Travel.
Since launching the website and blog four years ago, Diveplanit directors Simon Mallender and Deborah Dickson-Smith enjoyed introducing their readers to new diving destinations, unique marine encounters and marine conservation initiatives.
“We launched the website with an aim to encourage more people to experience our incredible underwater world. The more people that take the plunge, surely the more ocean advocates we will create. And the world needs more ocean advocates,” according to Deborah.
“Now we can go one step further from inspiring our readers with dive travel stories, with this extension to our growing business, we can help our readers experience these stories first hand,” adds Simon.
Diversion Dive has been taking care of divers’ travel needs for 23 years and have personal knowledge of all the dive resorts and liveaboards they recommend to customers, either from personal experience or from feedback gleaned from their many returning customers.
Specialising in tailor-made diving holidays – the Diversion team pride themselves on finding the best travel combination for each client, taking care of everything along the way, from airfares and accommodation to dive equipment and transfers.
After nearly 23 years of exciting, challenging, fun filled years as founders and directors Claudia and Dirk Werner-Lutrop are delighted to pass on the reigns to the owners, confident that Simon and Deborah have the knowledge, experience and passion to take Diversion Dive Travel to the next level.
Direction and day to day management will now fall to the Diveplanit team, ably supported by experienced staff members, Bettina and Kiky. Claudia and Dirk will remain involved in the business in advisory roles.
“We are very excited for the new owners and filled with a bit of sadness to hand over this company. Diversion was our baby and has matured to a grown-up institution. We have made many friends and acquaintances in Australia and around the world during this adventure,” they said about the acquisition.
Simon and Deborah plan add new diving destinations, tours, liveaboards and unique experiences to the Diversion Dive Travel mix, including enrichment tours and marine conservation volunteer opportunities.
More information about the exciting new products will be rolled out within the coming months.
“We’re very excited by the new direction our business is taking, and we look forward to working with the dive industry, regional tourism organisations and media to continue to develop this tourism niche.”
