Air Canada celebrates Melbourne agents
With Air Canada‘s much-anticipated seasonal service between Melbourne and Vancouver due to take flight on Sunday (3 December), the airline took the opportunity this week to thank its Victorian trade partners for their much-valued support.
More than 65 industry guests gathered for a stylish soiree at Melbourne’s Vue Events at Rialto, where they received an exclusive update on Air Canada’s plans for the Victorian market.
The airline’s seasonal 787 Dreamliner service to Vancouver will depart on 3 December and operate four times a week until 4 February 2018, offering a three class configuration: International Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy. Air Canada will then return in June 2018 for a year-round non-stop service departing three times a week from Victoria’s capital.
Air Canada Director Sales Asia Pacific, PK Lee, thanked agency partners for their outstanding support, which had helped firmly establish Melbourne as the airline’s third Australian port.
“I have no doubt that the new Melbourne service will repeat the success of our daily non-stop Sydney and Brisbane flights and establish Vancouver as a leading gateway to Canada and the United States for Victorian, Tasmanian and South Australian travellers,” Lee said.
Newly appointed General Manager Australia and New Zealand Vic Naughton highlighted Air Canada’s sustained growth, which has seen the airline announce the introduction of 12 new international routes* for 2018.
During the evening Air Canada gave guests the chance to win two round-trip Premium Economy Class tickets on its new Melbourne-Vancouver service, with Webjet’s Martin Rowe securing the grand prize.
