Medjet announces veterans day campaign

This Veterans Day, Medjet, the industry leader in air medical transport and crisis response memberships for travelers, is showing its support for veterans through a campaign with Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response organization. For every membership Medjet sells on Veterans Day, November 11, 2017, it will donate 10 percent to the relief organization.

Team Rubicon provides veterans with a means to exercise their expertise after leaving the military, and allows them to find a new sense of purpose by continuing to serve others with other veterans and like-minded people. With the increased severity of natural disasters this year, Medjet’s initiative is important for both the veterans conducting the work and the survivors of the natural disasters themselves.

“The outpouring of support from companies like Medjet and individual donors alike allows us to provide our services free of charge to homeowners when a disaster strikes,” said Jake Wood, co-founder and CEO of Team Rubicon. “As we enter the giving season, many people are looking for ways to give back, and the proceeds of this campaign with Medjet is one way for anyone to help out. The volunteers of Team Rubicon are built to serve, and we’re humbled to have another opportunity to utilize our skills and experiences for disaster relief.”

U.S. Marine Corps veterans Jake Wood and William McNulty founded the nonprofit in 2010 in the wake of the Haiti earthquake. Team Rubicon has grown from eight volunteers to more than 68,000, with more than 220 operations under its belt, including responses to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Volunteers are also providing relief and medical care in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria and conducting wildfire relief in Northern California.

“Here at Medjet, we have long been admirers of Team Rubicon’s mission and what they do for both the country and world at large,” confirmed Medjet President and CEO, Roy Berger.

Medjet’s campaign comes on the heels of the November 1st announcement that the company’s elevated MedjetHorizon membership option, which extends medical transport and crisis response to a wide range of travel instances such as political threat and terrorism, has added both natural disaster and pandemic protection to its scope of coverage.
