Trafalgar launches 2018 South & Central America program packed with colorful local experiences
Trafalgar has launched its 2018 South & Central America program, featuring 16 hand-crafted trips designed to connect travelers with the continent’s sights, flavors and people. The collection also welcomes a new destination with Trafalgar’s debut into Cuba, showcased through a nine-day journey through the nation’s colorful streets, history and culture.
The new Cuba itinerary, From Cuban Cigars to American Cars, is the perfect complement to the dynamic program which also spans Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
“There is a boundless energy to South & Central America that is truly intoxicating. Through this collection, we took special care to select experiences that would enable guests be part of that energy and vibrancy, rather than just mere spectators, “says Melissa da Silva, President of Trafalgar USA. “The result is a program packed with local experiences helmed by people who personify each destination’s essence such as passionate chef Ignacio, who shares his passion for Peruvian cooking on a gastronomic excursion in Peru.
“South and Central America has been a huge success story for Trafalgar, at a global level but particularly with American travelers. Despite being in close proximity, it hasn’t always felt the most accessible. This is something we aimed to solve with this product through deep research and meticulously planning to ensure the best, worry-free experiences that we believe will continue to be a big sales driver for agents.”
Trafalgar is committed to investing in local communities and safeguarding the environment of the destinations it visits. Working in conjunction with parent foundation, TreadRight, Trafalgar has forged a series of partnerships globally through its Join Trafalgar sustainability initiative. Travelers on select trips can see Trafalgar’s investment in action, or even take their journey to the next level through the Me to WE volunteer experiences such as an Ecuador extension to the Amazon to work amongst a local community on a development project.
NEW in the 2018 South & Central America program is:
- From Cuban Cigars to American Cars: This journey, compliant with new U.S polices on travel to Cuba, soaks up the nation’s colorful culture and colonial architecture through Havana, Camagüey, Santa Clara, Trinidad and Cienfuegos.
