Royal Jordanian signs global agreement with AccesRail connecting to 100 plus destinations
Royal Jordanian is pleased to announce that it has signed a partnership agreement with AccesRail, an IATA travel partner with its own carrier code (9B).
The new agreement, allows passengers to reach AccesRail’s destinations that connect to some of Royal Jordanian’s major gateway cities. Royal Jordanian’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Captain Sulaiman Obaidat, and AccesRail Vice President Business Development, Denis Grenier, signed the agreement.
Royal Jordanian Airlines joins the likes of an extensive number of airlines in an interline agreement with AccesRail. Royal Jordanian is the first airline to sign a fully global agreement encompassing all major AccesRail’s destinations via train in Canada, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Belgium, Great Britain or via buses in Detroit, the U.S.
Royal Jordanian now expands its reach through AccesRail’s 15+ rail and coach partners, to better service the needs of the airline customers traveling to more than 100 destinations. Airline customers can use one intermodal ticket that can be issued at any of RJ’s sales offices worldwide, the airline’s travel agents or online which will be launched very soon.
Passengers can book their rail transportation through all Royal Jordanian’s sales channels to seamlessly connect to cities beyond the airline’s reach. As rail services run frequently, this results in better connection times, which improves the overall customer experience.
Captain Suleiman Obeidat said: “As part of serving and expanding our network and providing our customers with a unique customer experience related to travel, we believe that partnering with a global distributer for rail companies, such as AccesRail, enables our customers to reach several new destinations via different railways across Europe and Canada and bus service in the U.S in a convenient way.”
He added that this partnership demonstrates Royal Jordanian’s commitment to embrace, at an executive level, air-rail as a major tool in its overall global strategy, and provide passengers with a new travel experience.
Denis Grenier, VP Marketing & Business Development, AccesRail said: “Royal Jordanian Airline’s vision follows that of other successful air-rail partnerships facilitated by AccesRail, however they are the first to see this potential on a global scale. We are thrilled to work together, making more destinations available thanks to seamless intermodal travel experiences.”
AccesRail is an IATA travel partner with its own carrier designator code (9B) and its own accounting code (450). Like any airline, AccesRail’s rail and coach inventory is fully integrated on the primary screen display of all major GDSs around the world, making it easy for travel agents to include, in the same transaction to the customer, a rail segment combined with an air segment all in the same PNR.
