Flight Review SWISS Flight 1326 Zurich to Moscow Business Class
28 July 2015
Flight Number: LX 1326 dep ZRH @ 12:20
Aircraft: Airbus A320
Zurich Airport was very busy with summer travellers, but thankfully the assistance of the airport’s VIP Services made the check-in experience less stressful. Mr Amato looked after me from the moment of arrival at the airport until the moment I was seated on the aircraft. SWISS permits a very generous 2 x 32kg checked baggage allowance for Business Class passengers.
The new VIP Lounge at ZRH is accessible to passengers using the VIP Services for arrivals or departures. The large lounge is stylish and well appointed with work areas, relaxation rooms, and chic chaises longues for those who wish to sleep. Swiss company La Prairie maintains a treatment room within the loung for VIP Lounge clients wishing to have a quick hand or foot massage before departure.
The flight departed Zurich about 20 minutes behind schedule due to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft.
The SWISS Business Class on this single-aisle plane saw the middle seats on each side of the 3-3 configuration left empty for greater passenger comfort. Ample reading material provided in a variety of languages for the relatively short flight.
Food And Beverage:
Drinks and a hot lunch were served. There was a choice of chicken curry or pasta as a vegetarian option. Thankfully, some of Switzerland’s excellent wines were among the options to accompany the meal.
There were no individual screens on this aircraft; the flip-down screen in the front of the cabin provided video diversion, though every passenger in Business Class seemed busy with work or other personal activities.
The flight arrived 26 minutes late due to the late departure from ZRH and the need to avoid a thunderstorm in the vicinity of Domodedovo Airport. Arrival procedures were straightforward and baggage was delivered quickly. A driver from Hotel Baltschug Kempinski was waiting to escort me to the hotel.
With flights to both Moscow and St Petersburg from both Geneva and Zurich, SWISS provides ample opportunities for travellers to visit Russia two largest cities with an airline that provides efficient service and streamlined connections into its hub in Zurich and out again with no fuss, especially when connecting between two non-Schengen countries. The VIP Service was a lifesaver today, thanks go to Mr Ignazio Amato for his efforts beyond the call of duty to ensure the airport experience was the best it could be.
