At Travel South’s recent International Showcase in New Orleans which finished on December 7th, Liz Bittner, executive director, announced the appointment of Kent Marketing as the In-Country Representative for Australia.
Travel South has been working with Kent on a project basis over the past 3 years and Kent Marketing organised the successful sales mission to Australia in June this year.
There are some interesting statistics that Travel South released about Australians travelling to the southern USA states, the region attracted 8.3 per cent of all Australian visitors to the USA in 2013.
Also the area saw a growth of 13.6 per cent, nearly double the growth of all visitors to the USA, and Australians purchased some of 318,000 room nights throughout the region, spending on average 12 nights per person.
Kent also organised a tour operators group to attend the Showcase in New Orleans which will be the 3rd year it has been held.
A group of 6 Australian tour operators participated including Jacqui Browne from Travel Corporation, who said that Travel South USA is a great network to work with.
