Last Wednesday, Travel Alberta in partnership with Rocky Mountaineer showcased a Taste of Alberta at Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel. Almost 150 key industry partners were invited to put on their aprons and create some of Rocky Mountaineer’s specialities, including roasted beef tenderloin, caramelized shallot compote with merlot wine reduction and maple cured fresh salmon with an emulsified western red cedar dressing.
Special guest, Rocky Mountaineer’s award winning Executive Chef, Jean Pierre Guerin, led the class and demonstrated his skills, made famouson-board the unique rail experience that travels from Vancouver or Seattle into the Rocky Mountain townships of Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff in Alberta, Canada.
One lucky attendee won a deluxe Canadian adventure including flights from Air New Zealand, a luxury rail journey provided by Rocky Mountaineer hotels from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and activities and transfers provided by Brewster Travel.
The lucky winner was Yen Nguyen from Discovery Travel.
