Obama says Yes We Can to US Tourism

US President Barack Obama welcomed tourism and travel CEOs to The White House today before he announced number of executive orders to help the local tourism industry.

President Obama visited New York’s Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, before announcing plans to speed up wait times at US airports over the next 4 months to improve access to the US and create automated passport control kiosks, and make 6 agencies work together to promote Brand USA.

According to the US’ National Economic Council, Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago’s O’Hare airports have reduced their wait times by 40 per cent.

National Economic Council director Jeffrey Zients said that travel and tourism supports a total of 8 million jobs, including 1.3 million from international visitors.

Mr Obama aims to attract 100 million visitors per year to the USA by 2021.
