Air Vanuatu keeps things simple. And with service like this, why not?
Seat: 26A (window) – Economy class
Check-in: Given the queue, check in was fairly swift. And with smiles all around nobody seemed to mind the short wait. Counter staff were professional and cheery.
On time performance: 25 minutes late in taking off, though arrived right on time.
Cabin: Seats were a little old, but saw us comfortably through the 3.5 hour journey.
Crew: Outstanding. Diligently scurried around. Never too far away to keep your apple juice filled and your tea hot. And in true ni-Vanuatu style, nearly always smiling.
Meals: A deliciously light and fluffy cous cous complemented a wonderful sweet potato and feta filled pastry. If ever you feel inclined to go vegetarian for a flight, do it on Air Vanuatu. Simple, yet seriously impressive. Perfect with a cold Tusker (local beer).
Entertainment: Four music channels and a kids’ station. Plus images and commentary of what lay ahead in Vanuatu. A doco about four ni-Vanuatu villagers travelling to the other side of the world was enjoyable. The absence of an entertainment system was noticed but not at all missed.
Favourite thing: The food and the staff. And the promise of more to come in Vanuatu.
