Recall of 9/11 flight numbers slammed

Management at United Airlines are under fire following the “inadvertent” reinstatement of flight numbers 93 and 175 – flight numbers identical to aircraft used in the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001.
According to the pilots association of United Airlines, the bungle demonstrates an absolute and blatant disrespect to those who were affected by the strikes.

"The thought of anyone among management at United Airlines to even consider reinstating these two sacred flight numbers – on the heels of Osama bin Laden’s death — demonstrates a severe disconnect from right and wrong," United MEC chairman Captain Wendy Morse said.

"Their insensitivity and unconscionable disrespect of these sacred flight numbers and their meaning to the employees of United Airlines and the families of those who lost their lives nearly 10 years ago are not only alarming, but reprehensible.”

Pilots at United have questioned how such missteps occurred, saying the inexcusable reinstatement of the flight numbers were symptoms of a much larger problem at United management.
