Aerolineas Argentinas consider SkyTeam alliance

The South American market could be heating up with the possibility Aerolineas Argentinas could be scooting over to join the SkyTeam.

Aerolineas Argentinas Australia Regional Manager Oscar Cilli told eTravel Blackboard he could not confirm the alliance but is confident the alliance could benefit the airline.

“The alliance would be great for us but we are still analysing the possibility to join the [Sky]Team.”
“Until we have signed off on an agreement to be a part of the team we can only confirm that we are analysing the benefits,” Mr Cilli said.

The alliance sought after by Delta Air Lines Inc and Air France KLM Group follows the recent union between Lan Airlines SA of Chile into SkyTeam competitor the Oneworld.

While Aerolineas remains tight lipped about the possible deal Mr Cilli said people can expect something definite to be released in the coming weeks.

“Something will definitely be released next week,” Mr Cilli said.
