JAL say goodbye to Hawaii

Despite efforts to keep Japan Airlines flying to the Big Island, the airline plans to suspend direct services from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport to Kona International Airport.

Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi reported that JAL will end services to the Big Island from October 29.

Kenoi said he understood that JAL has been under enormous pressure to restructure.

The carrier has provided the daily service to the Big Island since 1996.
